In 1992 Muffy received a Bachelor of Arts Degree from the University of South Carolina, with a major in History. She received her Juris Doctor from The University of South Carolina School of Law in 1995.
After law school Muffy was employed with the Fifth Circuit Solicitor’s Office where she tried her first Driving Under the Influence, Armed Robbery, and Murder cases.
Muffy left the criminal law arena and pursued a career with Astra Merck Pharmaceuticals where she was quickly promoted to the senior position of Field Quality Partner of the Southwest Compliance Division located in Dallas, Texas.
Muffy held that position with Astra Zeneca Pharmaceuticals until the illness of a family member caused her to relocate back to her home state of South Carolina where she re-entered the field of criminal prosecution for the Fifteenth Judicial Circuit’s Solicitor’s Office.
Muffy initially worked in the Family Court Division and was the Chief Prosecuting Attorney for the Fifteenth Circuit Family Court when she returned to her true passion as a General Sessions Assistant Solicitor for Georgetown County. It was there she tried an array of cases from Murder, Homicide by Child Abuse, Criminal Sexual Assault, Armed Robbery, Burglaries and Financial Crimes.
Muffy currently has a contract with The South Carolina Commission on Indigent Defense which involves cases of varying crimes, including most serious and violent crimes and she represents juveniles in Family Court as well.
Muffy is an active member in good standing with The South Carolina Bar Association and The South Carolina Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers – she is also proud supporter and contributor to Georgetown County and Georgetown County Chamber of Commerce.
